Technically you could consider Led Zeppelin heavy metal back in their days. Metal isn't just fast and heavy. It's feeling and emotion as well. Just like this song. Metallica was the first that began to sing (relatively) low and I think they where the first band to play modern heavy metal.And if u think i'm wrong,then u 've got to admit Metallica was a big source of inspiration for modern metalbands. It doesn't matter who knows the most about music, we listen to good music

Naja das beste an "damals" war meiner Meinung nach das die Länder in ihrer jeweiligen Landessprache gesungen haben. Lena hat auch gut gesungen und das Lied ist ganz lustig anzuhören ( obwohl es langsam nach 1000 mal im Radio abspielen langsam etwas nervt ) aber es macht doch gerade das Lied des jeweiligen Landes aus es in der eigenen Sprache gesungen zu haben .

The Chaos in Motion dvd has a disclaimer that crawls across the screen saying that they didn't get any footage of jordan playing it because he just improvised it while Portnoy was laying down his final drum tracks. pretty awesome.

Even if you don't like the song (which I would find hard to believe, due the fact that is mixes in quiet a few musical styles), you have to respect them for the effort and time put into this song, and all their music. Dream Theater, as a whole, is an extremely skilled band, having some of the best instrumentalists in their fields. This music is beyond just sounding amazing, it is a huge step away from the usual bullshit three minute songs fed to people. Thanks for the upload.

Why do people have to argue about this? If you had any inkling of musical intellect, you'd see that not only is the guitar player great (of course not when you compare it to Hendrix, but get real), but all the band members -- did you see how drawn-out and intricate and BEAST! that keyboardist was?! -- they've all got something special. Out of all the songs they made from the last five albums from Six Degrees to Black Clouds, this song by far represents the 'classic' style DT composition everybody wants. I think the rest starting from the 12 step suite down to the count of Tuscany was just a pure useless, llaissez-faire, crappy trip of doing songs!!
